Reed Accountancy & Finance is currently seeking an experienced Credit Controller for a temporary position based in Folkestone, Kent. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in credit control who is looking for their next challenge in a dynamic office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and collecting debts from company debtors
  • Evaluating new credit requests and reviewing customers’ credit rankings with banks
  • Setting up the terms and conditions of the receivable and payable balances
  • Dealing with internal queries about payments, ensuring customers pay on time
  • Negotiating repayment plans
  • Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices
  • Posting and allocating daily receipts to accounting systems

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
  • Proficient in MS Office and data entry; experience with accounting software preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
  • Competence in negotiation and dealing with difficult situations
  • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise a demanding workload
