Description

  • Assist solicitors with residential and commercial property transactions, including buying, selling, remortgaging, and transfers of equity.

  • Prepare and manage legal documentation, including contracts, deeds, and Land Registry forms.

  • Conduct searches (e.g., local authority, title, and environmental searches) and assist in the review of results.

  • Draft standard legal documents and letters to clients, estate agents, and other parties involved in the transaction.

  • Liaise with clients to gather necessary information and documentation.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions and correspondence.

  • Manage and update case management systems to ensure files are well-organized and deadlines are met.

  • Provide general administrative support to the conveyancing team, including organizing appointments, preparing files for completion, and assisting with invoicing.

  • Communicate with third parties such as lenders, surveyors, and estate agents to ensure the timely completion of transactions.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements throughout the conveyancing process.

  • Keep clients informed about the progress of their transaction and handle client queries professionally and efficiently.

  • Perform any other duties as required by the senior conveyancing solicitor or team leader.

Profile

  • Experience in conveyancing (preferably 1-2 years) or exposure to property law is highly desirable.

  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of the conveyancing process, legal terminology, and relevant legislation.

  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • A strong customer service orientation and the ability to build professional relationships with clients and external parties.
