About the Project


Our esteemed client is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to play a key role in a major transmission infrastructure project across mainland Scotland and the Isle of Skye. This project involves upgrading an existing 132kV overhead transmission line. The successful Planning Manager will be instrumental in driving project progress using Primavera P6 and other planning tools.

Key Responsibilities:


路Take a hands-on approach to project planning, utilising Primavera P6 to manage schedules and drive project progression.
路Develop, maintain, and optimise project plans and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
路Collaborate closely with project teams, stakeholders, and contractors to align timelines and objectives.
路Implement and oversee risk management strategies to mitigate potential delays.
路Ensure compliance with UK energy regulations, environmental laws (Section 37), and Ofgem requirements.
路Work with cost estimation, budgeting, and NEC3/NEC4 contract management.
路Utilise digital tools such as GIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, BIM, and digital twin technology to enhance project planning.


Required Skills & Experience:


路Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) methodology.
路Strong understanding of 132kV transmission lines, substations, grid connections, geotechnical, and environmental considerations.
路Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in overhead lines (OHL), cabling, or energy transmission.
路Knowledge of financial and contract management, including procurement processes.
路Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively across project teams.
