Our client, a well-established and growing business in Gateshead, is expanding their team and seeking a dynamic and proactive professional to join them on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with potential for extension thereafter.

Your Role as an Account Manager

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a people-focused, fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong, long-term relationships. The Business Development team brings in new clients, and your role is to nurture and manage those clients thereafter-handling their day-to-day accounts, checking in with customers, and ensuring they receive outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer enquiries from initial contact to quotation, ensuring efficient follow-up
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts
  • Handle communications promptly and professionally
  • Identify and qualify areas for growth within accounts
  • Support regional marketing initiatives
  • Manage the centralised inbox to ensure quick response times
  • Provide outstanding customer service via phone and email
  • Escalate technical support enquiries via CRM systems
  • Oversee after-sales servicing and repairs
  • Prepare monthly reports
  • Monitor pricing and discount strategies to align with business goals
  • General administration duties

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in Account Management, Customer Service, Sales Administration, or Sales Order Processing
  • Proactive and results-driven with a self-starter mindset
  • Excellent communication skills via phone and email
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Good IT proficiency - Office 365 and CRM experience is a plus
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
  • A positive, "can-do" attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges
