This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated 3rd Line Telecoms Engineer to join a highly skilled team in Newcastle. With a supportive work environment and excellent benefits, this role is ideal for someone ready to take on new challenges.

Telecoms Engineer (3rd Line)£35,000 + £40,000Gateshead/Onsite

Daily Duties:

  • Providing expert 3rd line support for telecom systems, including VoIP, SIP, PSTN, and mobile networks.
  • Diagnosing and resolving escalated technical issues, ensuring long-term solutions through root cause analysis.
  • Configuring, maintaining, and monitoring telecom equipment and systems.
  • Leading or participating in telecom projects such as upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
  • Managing critical incidents and conducting post-incident reviews.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and training materials for support teams.

Tech Stack:

  • Telecom systems: VoIP, SIP, PSTN, and mobile networks.
  • Networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Diagnostic and monitoring tools.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in telecom support, with at least 2 years in a 3rd line or expert-level role.
  • A full UK driving license and the right to work in the UK.
  • Strong knowledge of telecom protocols, systems, and compliance requirements.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP or CompTIA Network+ (preferred).
