Gateshead Council is committed to providing exceptional support and services to our community. Our Adult Service Support and Engagement Team (ASSET) focuses on early intervention and support for adults with multiple and complex needs who do not meet the threshold for statutory social care or safeguarding.


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Asset Team Manager to lead our ASSET team on a temporary basis until a permanent team manager is appointed in September. This role is crucial in ensuring that adults with complex needs receive the early intervention and support they require.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the ASSET team, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Oversee the provision of early intervention and support for adults with multiple and complex needs.
  • Coordinate and manage team activities, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate hybrid working arrangements, ensuring team members are on-site at least 2 to 3 days a week.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and effective working environment.
  • Liaise with other departments and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for service users.
  • Monitor and report on the team's performance, ensuring targets and outcomes are met.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experienced team managers with a background in adult social care.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with service users, team members, and external partners.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage hybrid working arrangements.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality support and services to adults with complex needs.

Additional Information

  • This is a temporary role, pending the appointment of a new team manager in September.
  • The role requires on-site presence at least 2 to 3 days a week, with flexibility for hybrid working.
