Venari Finance are delighted to be exclusively retained by our high profile, private equity backed energy infrastructure client to recruit a Financial Controller on a 15 month fixed term contract.

 

The business is going through an exciting period of growth following recent Private Equity investment.

 

The role will report into the Director of Financial Reporting and will lead a team of 3 out of the Head office function in Glasgow.

 

Role Overview:

 

  • Overall management and delivery of the month end financial reporting of the legal entities including financial analysis and commentary.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and within reporting deadlines with any queries resolved in a timely manner.
  • Cash management including tracking and forecasting.
  • Ownership of budgeting and forecasting for the legal entities, working closely with operational and commercial teams.
  • Ensure compliance on all tax related matters, including VAT, transfer pricing etc.
  • Support with grant claim processes and management of third-party assurance reviews.
  • Lead year-end statutory audit process, liaising with auditors.
  • Accounting reviews of new or modified areas, ensuring compliance with IFRS.
  • Develop and document business processes to drive continuous improvement and maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Support accounting system upgrades and identify target areas for system optimisation.
  • Effective collaboration with others within the reporting function along with the commercial and transactional finance teams.
  • Day to day management and development of the team.
  • Provision of ad-hoc support to the Director of Financial Reporting with involvement in projects as required.

 

Candidate Background:

  • Qualified Accountant with 5 plus years PQE
  • Experience of leading a small team
  • Background of working in a fast paced/operational environment

 

 

Package:

  • £70,000- £75,000
  • Hybrid working of 2 days per week out of the head office in Glasgow
