We are seeking an Electrical Engineer / Engineering Manager to join Alba Orbital Ltd and lead our Engineering Design Team.

The Role

As an Engineering Manager at Alba Orbital Ltd, you will oversee the Engineering Design Team, driving the development of innovative products and systems for satellites and mobile ground stations. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead projects centred on electronic design, ensuring high-quality outputs while fostering a culture of innovation, creativity, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee electronic design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
  • Design and test electronics for harsh environments, focusing on reliability and performance.
  • Manage multiple projects, prioritising tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Coach and develop team members, promoting a lean and agile engineering mindset.
  • Contribute to process improvements in an Agile environment.

The Person

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A degree in electronic engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a technical or electronics production environment.
  • Expertise in electronic design, digital/analogue electronics, and PCB layout.
  • Practical experience in electronics testing and low-level embedded software (preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • A track record of managing multiple projects in high-pressure environments.

Preferred Experience: Space industry experience is desirable, but we welcome candidates with relevant commercial experience in small to medium-sized companies.
