Meraki Talent are supporting a global investment bank who are looking to appoint a Legal Counsel professional.  Are you a talented legal professional with a passion for the fast-paced world of banking and payments?We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice and support to our growing banking and payments operations.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, payment systems, banking operations, and financial products.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to banking services, payment solutions, and partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international banking and payments regulations
  • Advise on matters relating to fintech, digital currencies, electronic money, and emerging financial technologies.
  • Liaise with regulators, external legal counsel, and other key stakeholders on legal and compliance matters.
  • Support the business in structuring transactions, product development, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments in the banking and payments industry to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Qualified solicitor or lawyer
  • 3-5+ years of experience in banking, payments, or financial services law.
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations, payments law, and financial technology.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies, financial institutions, or fintech companies.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
