We are looking for a methodical and accurate Commissioning Support Officer to join the Grant Delivery Team in delivering the Household Support Fund, which has been allocated to authorities across England. In this role, you will handle inquiries and applications from Gloucestershire households, helping them with essential household bills, goods, and food.

Job Purpose

  • Provide an efficient, customer-focused service by processing incoming applications, handling data, and communicating necessary information and advice.
  • Undertake general clerical and administrative tasks to support the service as needed.
  • Triaging applications via emails and the online system, ensuring accurate, confidential service while maintaining up-to-date electronic filing systems. Ensure the security of information in line with Gloucestershire County Council’s policies and relevant legislation.

Main Duties

  • Engage with households to understand the pressures they are facing, assess their needs, and make informed decisions on the support they require. This will include handling challenging calls, de-escalating issues, and directing households to appropriate support services.
  • Collaborate with the team to support complex cases and provide solutions.
  • Utilize ICT skills, including Excel and professional emailing. You will be required to input data and create basic formulas in Excel.
  • Promote the Household Support Fund across Gloucestershire.
  • Ensure the Fund is delivered in line with DWP and Gloucestershire County Council guidelines, as well as local policies for allocating funds.
  • Administer and process applications for the Household Support Fund.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
