Your new companyHays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a growing and entrepreneurial business based on the outskirts of Gloucester, Gloucestershire to recruit a dynamic and hands-on part-time Finance Assistant/Bookkeeper. The role will offer 20 - 25 hours per week and a split of remote/office hybrid working. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you manage all transactional finance processes for the business including purchase ledger processing, bank reconciliations, payments, financial administration, and in time develop to support with further bookkeeping duties, month-end support and analysis. Your new role

Your key duties will involve processing invoices, payments, expenses, along with performing regular bank reconciliations, investigating/resolving transactional discrepancies and managing financial documentation to ensure compliance with company policies. You will maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records using the finance system, record daily financial transactions, and complete the posting process, along with general financial administration/bookkeeping duties. The role will develop as you grow with the business to support the preparation of monthly management accounts, assisting in analysing financial data, producing reports for internal stakeholders and ad-hoc projects/duties to support company growth.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on part-time Finance Assistant/Bookkeeper role, you will need experience in a similar position. Comfortable with accounts payable processes, bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping. You will have strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, key communication skills to partner both internally/externally at all levels, along with key problem-solving skills to work collaboratively across teams. You will be adaptable to business needs, used to a changing/growing environment, comfortable with financial systems, with strong MS Excel skills. You will be studying for AAT, AAT qualified or qualified by experience. Experience with Xero financial system and within a small/medium-sized organisation would be advantageous but not essential.
