Certain Advantage is hiring for a Health and Safety Advisor based in Filton, Bristol

This role is on a contract basis until December 2025 and is office based.

£20.88-£27.63 an hour depending upon experience.

The Role:

This role is for a dynamic Health and Safety Advisor-someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You will be results-orientated and driven to succeed.

You will be responsible for:

  • Support the implementation of EHS UK policies for occupational health and safety management.
  • Provide professional guidance and practical support to business units to enhance workplace safety daily.
  • Assist in the prevention of workplace injuries, ill health, and losses, helping to reduce accident and incident rates.
  • Ensure all workplace accidents and incidents are reported, thoroughly investigated, and that corrective actions are documented and tracked to completion.
  • Actively support the risk assessment process, identifying potential hazards and ensuring appropriate risk management controls are in place.
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits and other safety monitoring activities to maintain adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the development of tools and processes that enhance health and safety management, compliance, data capture, and reporting.
  • Maintain an effective internal meeting structure to facilitate communication and consultation with key stakeholders on health and safety matters.

The Individual

We are looking for people who can show:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, collaborating with key stakeholders and providing dedicated safety advisory support.
  • Hands-on experience in conducting formal risk assessments using recognised methodologies.
  • Strong background in engineering, manufacturing, or technical environments, with a solid understanding of industry-specific safety challenges.
  • A proactive and adaptable team player with the ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative, a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the practical and pragmatic application of health and safety standards in the workplace.
  • Proficient in using office IT systems and relevant software tools.
  • Applicants must have NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Level Health and Safety qualification.
  • Experience of Machinery safety
  • All applicants would be subject to BPSS checks.
