Key Responsibilities

Architectural Design:

  • Develop comprehensive architectural solutions that address business needs while ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.
  • Ensure solutions are in alignment with organizational architecture guidelines and industry standards.
  • Evaluate the potential business impact of technical decisions, documenting trade-offs effectively.
  • Consider all cross-functional elements of solution design, such as compliance, security, governance, and industry best practices.
  • Produce and maintain architectural documentation, including diagrams, models, and guidelines.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with business leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Translate business objectives into technical solutions and clearly communicate architectural visions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural standards and governance protocols.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor team members to promote the adoption of best practices.

Innovation and Strategy:

  • Identify emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing their potential impact on the organization.
  • Advocate for innovative solutions that enhance business value and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of IT strategies and long-term roadmaps.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with architectural decisions and solution deployments.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with applicable regulations and standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Experience:

  • Proven experience in solution architecture.
  • Background in regulated environments, particularly in financial services (preferably the insurance industry).
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing complex technical solutions in areas such as policy administration, claims management, underwriting, and customer systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices (insurance sector experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration technologies and patterns (e.g., APIs, ESB, messaging systems).
  • Understanding of data architecture, including data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance.
