Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design:
- Develop comprehensive architectural solutions that address business needs while ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.
- Ensure solutions are in alignment with organizational architecture guidelines and industry standards.
- Evaluate the potential business impact of technical decisions, documenting trade-offs effectively.
- Consider all cross-functional elements of solution design, such as compliance, security, governance, and industry best practices.
- Produce and maintain architectural documentation, including diagrams, models, and guidelines.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with business leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
- Translate business objectives into technical solutions and clearly communicate architectural visions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the lifecycle of projects.
- Ensure adherence to architectural standards and governance protocols.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor team members to promote the adoption of best practices.
Innovation and Strategy:
- Identify emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing their potential impact on the organization.
- Advocate for innovative solutions that enhance business value and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the development of IT strategies and long-term roadmaps.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with architectural decisions and solution deployments.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with applicable regulations and standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Experience:
- Proven experience in solution architecture.
- Background in regulated environments, particularly in financial services (preferably the insurance industry).
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing complex technical solutions in areas such as policy administration, claims management, underwriting, and customer systems.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices (insurance sector experience preferred).
- Proficiency in architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration technologies and patterns (e.g., APIs, ESB, messaging systems).
- Understanding of data architecture, including data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance.
