I am currently recruiting for a Technical and Compliance Manager on behalf of a forward thinking Law Firm based in Gloucestershire.This position is ideal for an experienced and passionate Property Solicitor looking to contribute directly to the success and growth of a well-respected legal practice. The firm is seeking a self-motivated individual to oversee and manage the technical legal advice program across all transactional teams.In this role, the successful candidate will provide expert guidance, support, and supervision of legal work, ensuring that the firm's operations and employees comply with all applicable laws, regulations, protocols, and best practices specific to the conveyancing process. The Technical and Compliance Manager will work closely with the Group Compliance Director to maintain adherence to trade body standards and SRA regulations, developing and implementing policies, and monitoring operations to identify and address potential areas of non-compliance.A key responsibility will be leading the improvement of quality control systems, introducing a robust peer-to-peer review process, and enhancing the technical competencies of staff. This role also involves mentoring and leading a team of qualified and qualifying lawyers, supporting their professional development and career progression. Additionally, the successful candidate will attend trade seminars and events, building a profile for the firm as a leading technical expert in the field, while driving the growth of the sale and purchase business.There is also a collaborative aspect to the role, working with the internal IT team to develop the firm's case management system to better support and enhance sale and purchase work.About you:
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience managing a complex caseload of residential conveyancing matters.
  • Strong expertise in residential conveyancing, including the full range of sale, purchase, and remortgage matters.
  • Experience with leasehold and lease extension work, equity release (advantageous), bridging transactions (advantageous), SDLT requirements, and unregistered properties.
  • Proven team management skills, with the ability to develop, coach, and mentor team members effectively.
