A leading firm with a national presence in the equity release sector is seeking a skilled and driven Technical and Compliance Manager (Residential Conveyancing Solicitor) to join their team in the Gloucester office. With hybrid working flexibility, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced conveyancing professional to take a leadership role within a dynamic law firm.

The Technical and Compliance Manager's Role

The successful Technical and Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the technical legal advice program, providing supervision and support to the firm's transactional teams. Working closely with the Group Compliance Director, you will ensure the advice we provide is compliant with trade standards and SRA regulations. You will develop policies, monitor operations, and drive improvements in quality control systems. This role also includes leadership and development of a team of solicitors and legal professionals, helping them achieve their career goals.

The Technical and Compliance Manager

To be considered for the Technical and Compliance Manager (Residential Conveyancing Solicitor) role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience handling a complex caseload of residential conveyancing matters
  • Strong expertise in sale, purchase, remortgage, and leasehold matters
  • Experience with unregistered properties and SDLT requirements, including relevant reliefs and exemptions
  • Team management experience, with the ability to coach and mentor staff
  • Knowledge of equity release and bridging transactions (advantageous but not essential)
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative
