Location: GL1 2TG
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ months
Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: 293.88 - 366.62 per day PAYE

About the Role:

Join our dynamic Strategic Procurement Service, where you'll play a crucial role in managing high-value, complex tenders and driving strategic procurement initiatives. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders, including Directors, commissioners, and senior managers, to achieve outstanding commercial outcomes. You'll leverage your expertise in procurement to offer pragmatic advice, maximise social value, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide informed guidance to commissioners and clients to exceed value-for-money requirements.
  • Utilise specialist knowledge in areas like supplier research, cost modelling, risk management, and bench-marking to deliver results.
  • Lead discrete procurement projects, develop procurement strategies, and prepare comprehensive tender evaluation reports.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including external suppliers, to manage relationships and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with procurement activities, keeping abreast of relevant policies and legislative changes.
  • Work on complex, innovative tenders and contribute to the development of contracts, KPIs, and incentive strategies.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in procurement or commissioning, managing complex tenders, and translating technical needs into actionable specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to research markets, manage risk, and negotiate for maximum value.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team in a structured or project-based environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract law, and risk management.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including cost modelling, negotiation, and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and produce clear, concise reports.
