TPF Recruitment are working with a prestigious Top 20 accountancy practice that is looking for a Senior or Assistant Manager to join their audit team in Godalming. In this role, you will lead audits for a diverse range of small to medium-sized clients, managing a team of juniors and working closely with managers to ensure audit work is delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide training for audit semi-seniors and juniors, ensuring their development and the quality of work.
  • Perform risk assessments and identify key audit areas.
  • Utilize advanced audit techniques, including substantive testing and analytical procedures.
  • Draft and review financial statements, including audit reports, and communicate findings with the audit supervisor/manager.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.
  • Complete weekly timesheets and monitor the timely submission of expenses and timesheets by team members.
  • Conduct staff appraisals for juniors at the conclusion of audits.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of audit tests across various sections of the audit file.
  • Review the work of junior staff, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Design audit tests to ensure efficiency and thoroughness.
  • Deliver audit files in a state that minimizes review points from supervisors and managers.
  • Collaborate with the tax department on provisions, computations, and returns.
  • Prepare and review key audit documents, including audit highlights and going concern assessments.
  • Ensure audit files are complete, including sensitivity analysis, risk assessments, and the comparison of forecasts.
Requirements

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent internationally recognized accounting qualification.
  • Previous experience in leading audits and managing teams.
  • Strong technical competence in auditing and financial reporting.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and team members effectively.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
