This is your opportunity to join a rapidly growing food manufacturer as their Operations Manager on Nights. The business supplies the major retailers with a best-in-class chilled product. As such, this is a fast-paced environment and would suit someone who thrives under pressure.
The Night Shift Operations Manager is a brand-new position to support continued growth. The successful candidate will lead the night shift operation with responsibility Production, QA, Hygiene, Warehouse and Engineering teams.
The Role
The successful Night Shift Operations Manager will:
- Provide direction and support to the Production, QA, Hygiene, Warehouse and Engineering teams on the night shift to achieve business wide objectives.
- Monitor and optimise manufacturing processes to meet production targets, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational challenges swiftly to minimise downtime.
- Coordinate with the Technical and Engineering teams to address equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Facilitate Technical problem-solving and ensure that any issues regarding fruit quality and food safety are resolved swiftly.
- Oversee all aspects of site security during night operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and implement measures to safeguard personnel, property, and information.
- Act as the first point of contact for emergencies or incidents, initiating appropriate response protocols.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and external stakeholders as required.
- Chair shift-start up meetings
- Ensure adherence to health and food safety, and environmental standards.
- Generate and submit detailed reports on night shift performance, incidents, and key metrics.
- Act as point of contact for internal colleagues and 3rd parties.
- Handle any customer audits announced and unannounced and hand over to day team as appropriate.
The Candidate
The successful Night Shift Operations Manager will have:
- Proven leadership experience in a similar high-paced operational environment.
- The ability to understand and support Technical and Engineering processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate diverse teams.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, as well as site security protocols.
