We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning & Development Manager to join a growing business in Guildford in a newly created position reporting into the Head of HR. This is a hybrid role working 3 days a week in the office and 2 days a week from home, 35 hours a week with flexible start and finish times.
This role has been created to build the L&D team and to develop and deliver the L&D strategy for the organisation. There is currently one direct report (L&D Advisor) plus administrative support from the HR Admin team.
Being a new position there is great scope for someone to make a mark and really effect change for the better within the business.
Responsibilities include;
- Oversee the day to day operations of the L&D team, with direct line management responsibilities
- Create and implement an L&D strategy across mandatory training requirements, professional development and talent development / coaching / leadership development, creating career pathways and competency frameworks
- Manage the training budget, reviewing use of suppliers and making recommendations for potential new partners, working closely with all third parties to track outcomes and learning effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with managers and employees to identify critical internal talent and implement processes to ensure the engagement, retention and development of key individuals
- Review professional development policies and engagement strategy to increase retention
- Develop LMS capability to deliver a best in class L&D service including up to date online training
- Stay up to date on L&D trends, best practice, emerging initiatives and developments
