Our professional client is looking for an Account Assistant to join their team in Guildford. This office-based role involves processing client-related transactions promptly and ensuring the company complies with regulations regarding the handling of client funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and recording prepayments and accruals accurately in the accounts.
  • Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register to ensure all assets are properly accounted for.
  • Assisting with the preparation and posting of month-end journals.
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns in compliance with regulations.
  • Assisting with WIP and debt reviews to ensure accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Providing assistance during the annual audit process by preparing required documentation and liaising with auditors.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and employee expenses.
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Managing supplier payment runs and handling ad-hoc payments as required.
  • Responding to and resolving internal and external finance-related queries in a timely manner.

Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Must have 1-2 years’ experience of working in an accounts department
  • Fast learner who adapts easily.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexible attitude
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective team player.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrates professionalism.
