Elevation Recruitment are currently working with an industry leader in within construction, engineering and project management based in Halifax.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand the scope and specific requirements of each project.
  • Evaluate historical data and current market trends to assess costs and identify potential risks.
  • Participate in bid reviews and negotiations, providing expert insight and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Oversee and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Continuously monitor and refine estimating processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and analysis to senior management and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating
  • Proven track record of successfully estimating and securing projects of various sizes and complexities.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry practices, building codes, and relevant regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
