Milk Education are in partnership with a school looking for an experienced, committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. They are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience working with SEN students, particularly in a 1;1 position. This School is looking for someone who is hard working, committed and patient. The role will involve supporting the main class teacher and other students within the classroom.

The role will be begin ASAP, it is a long term position.

  • Based In the London Borough of Harrow, enrolling 330 pupils from ages 5 to 11 years old.
  • Two-form entry school, aiming to give their children and staff a fantastic opportunity to be part of a resilient, friendly, respectful and creative environment.
  • The school's most recent Ofsted inspection, the centre was rated 'Outstanding'. This is due to the fantastic leadership and quality of teaching.
  • The school is a short walk away from multiple stations and bus routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support: Work one-on-one and in small groups to assist a pupil in the classroom, adjusting tasks and activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Encourage active participation: Support the student’s involvement in lessons, fostering a sense of inclusion and motivation.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility: Provide necessary support for personal care and physical needs, ensuring emotional well-being is also attended to.
  • Support emotional and behavioral development: Create a positive, nurturing environment for the student’s growth and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with the teacher: Work alongside the class teacher to deliver personalised learning strategies that support the child’s specific requirements.
  • Track progress: Help monitor and record the child's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents, contributing to overall assessments.
