Exciting Opportunity: Head of Finance for Innovative Retail & Wholesale Consulting Company

Our client is a leading retail and wholesale consulting company based in Maylands, Hemel Hempstead, they are seeking an Head of Finance to help drive the strategic aims of the business through sound financial acumen and team management to join their top-tier senior leadership team.

  • Location: Hemel Hempstead, with hybrid working arrangement
  • Work Schedule: 2-3 days in office, 2-3 days work from home
  • Type: Full-time, permanent

As the newly created Head of Finance you will work closely with the MD, playing a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy and operations of this evolving business.

Head of Finance Key Responsibilities
  • Spearhead strategic financial planning and analysis, including annual budgeting and monthly variance reporting
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial forecasting models to drive business decisions
  • Oversee the creation of comprehensive Monthly Management Accounts, Management Information (MI), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring efficient management of all finance functions, including payroll
  • Optimise cash flow management and treasury operations
  • Conduct in-depth weekly and monthly sales analysis, providing actionable insights to senior management
  • Design and implement robust sales and stock flow forecasting models
  • Manage the Year-End Audit process, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors
  • Orchestrate the annual stock take, ensuring accurate inventory reporting and valuation
  • Ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting while managing various ad-hoc financial projects
Qualifications and Skills
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is desired
  • Proven experience in financial planning and reporting
  • Strong track record in analysing financial statements
  • Exceptional analytical skills in finance
  • In-depth knowledge of financial operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
