We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate KS1 Class Teacher to join our vibrant primary school in Hemel Hempstead starting Easter 2025. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work with our young learners, helping to foster a love for learning and providing a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, and the wider curriculum.
As a KS1 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment, ensuring that children develop essential skills and knowledge in their formative years. You will be dedicated to ensuring that each childs potential is fully realised, using creative and effective teaching strategies to support their individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for Year 1 and Year 2 students, in line with the KS1 curriculum.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love for learning.
Develop students' basic skills in literacy, numeracy, and other areas of the curriculum, ensuring a strong foundation for future learning.
Use assessments to track progress and adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
Provide constructive feedback to students, encouraging improvement and celebrating achievements.
Maintain a well-organized classroom and provide a safe and stimulating learning environment.
Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed about their childs progress and development.
Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and best practices.
Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enhance the students' school experience.
Engage in professional development to continue growing as a teacher.
A valid teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
Experience in teaching within a primary school setting, preferably in Key Stage 1.
Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and its application to enhance childrens learning.
Ability to create a positive and motivating learning environment that encourages children to take an active role in their education.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
A passion for working with young children and a commitment to supporting their development.
A proactive approach to classroom management and creating a safe, nurturing environment.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Experience with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) or children with additional learning needs.
Knowledge of current teaching methods and trends in primary education.
Experience with phonics, reading schemes, and early numeracy programs.
Paid to Scale based on experience.
