Senior Quantity Surveyor

High Wycombe

£75 000 - £85 000 plus package and bonus

My client a leading residential main contractor and developer are looking to expand their commercial team on a large 400 unit new build traditional build scheme in High Wycombe.

You will be leading the scheme commercially from the start till the end of the project, which offers great prospects for progression reporting directly to the Commercial Director. You will have an AQS in the scheme supporting you.

Your duties:

 

•           Collaborate with Production & Technical Leads to identify risks and manage project scope within agreed timelines.

•           Attend design meetings and ensure timely execution of actions.

•           Prepare contract sum analysis, cash flows, and valuations to maintain positive cash flow and maximise project profitability.

•           Ensure timely payments from clients and retention payments post-completion.

•           Manage subcontractor valuations, payments, and ensure compliance with contract conditions.

•           Review drawings for cost-saving opportunities while ensuring project requirements are met.

•           Oversee the procurement process, ensuring timely subcontract orders and approvals.

•           Produce accurate and timely Cost Valuation Reports (CVCs) for project review and approval.

•           Manage final accounts and ensure adherence to company protocols, aiming for successful completion and payment.

•           Mentor trainees and work closely with other departments to drive efficient communication and problem solving.

Experience and background:

•          Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a related field (HND/HNC, degree, or equivalent).

•           Membership of MCIOB or RICS.

•           Proven experience in contract and quantity surveying, construction budgeting, and managing mixed-tenure schemes.

•           Strong commercial experience, particularly within main contracting.

•           In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, health and safety, and construction techniques.

•           Knowledge & experience with groundworks remeasures.

•           Strong competency in remeasurement for various construction elements (e.g., Piling, Groundworks, RC Frame).
