Our client, specialists in the educational sector, are seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resource management. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in supporting staff wellbeing, managing recruitment, and ensuring the school's HR policies are aligned with best practice and current legislation.

Key Responsibilities for the HR Manager:

  • Process and manage staff attendance, co-ordinate the school's Leave of Absence scheme, and administer the annual leave and maternity/paternity leave policies.
  • Monitor staff performance, conduct annual reviews of Job Descriptions and Person Specifications, ensuring roles support the school's growth and goals.
  • Manage all recruitment campaigns, draft job adverts and descriptions, oversee the induction process, and monitor probation periods.
  • Lead on grievance and disciplinary cases, preparing all necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with legal guidelines.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, consult on new policy drafts, and ensure all policies meet current legislation and best practices.
  • Provide regular reports on recruitment, absences, and costs, support payroll queries, and liaise with the payroll service provider on salary issues.

Key Skills Required of the HR Manager:

  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and the ability to apply them effectively in an educational setting.
  • Ability to engage and advise SLT and staff on HR-related issues.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes, from drafting job descriptions to inducting new staff.
  • Skilled in moderating staff performance reviews, managing absence cases, and addressing capability issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and maintaining HR policies in line with legislation and industry standards.
  • Excellent ability to manage a variety of HR tasks, produce data reports, and present statistical insights to leadership teams.
