An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Manager with ideally 3-5 years’ experience in a residential children’s care setting to join our client. They provide therapeutic care to children and young people and offering excellent benefits.

As a Deputy Manager, you will oversee the care and well-being of children in a newly built therapeutic home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for up to three children and young people. This role offers opportunity for progression to Registered Manager after probation.

You will be responsible for:

  • Provide therapeutic care and support to children with emotional and behavioural needs, ensuring their welfare and development.
  • Lead shifts, supervise staff, and implement placement plans while supporting the children's education.
  • Assist the Registered Manager with OFSTED inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee staff inductions, ongoing training, and manage on-call responsibilities as needed.
  • Ensure effective budget management, risk management, and maintain accurate care plans and documentation.

What we are looking for:

  • Ideally have 3-5 years’ experience in a residential children’s care setting.
  • Understanding of therapeutic care and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management, or a willingness to work towards it.
  • Knowledge of current children’s home regulations and a strong commitment to safeguarding.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
