Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing team at a leading site in Huddersfield. This role will focus on observing and improving existing manufacturing processes, reducing waste, and optimizing equipment efficiency. While most of the role will require on-site presence, some documentation and paperwork can be completed remotely.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Work primarily on the manufacturing floor to observe and assess existing processes.
  • Identify areas of waste in current operations and propose methods to eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Improve manufacturing equipment and processes to enhance productivity.
  • Apply industrial engineering techniques such as line balancing, time studies, and Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) to reduce downtime and improve output.
  • Collaborate with the larger Manufacturing team to align process improvements with overall production goals.
  • Utilize tools like Excel to track data and analyze process performance.
  • Ensure all improvements align with company safety and quality standards.


Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes: You must have a deep understanding of various manufacturing techniques, though not necessarily mechanical-specific.
  • Previous experience in Industrial Engineering: Proven experience with methodologies such as line balancing, time studies, and SMED reduction.
  • Proficient in Excel: Strong skills in using Excel for data analysis and process tracking.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Apprentice-trained: Candidates who have completed an engineering apprenticeship are preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD: Familiarity with AutoCAD for process and layout design would be advantageous.
