We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for enthusiastic and highly motivated Specialist Learning Coaches, specialising in autism, to join a dedicated and vibrant team at an inclusive and outward-looking special school in Huddersfield. This school caters to children aged 5-19 with complex autism needs and has maintained an Ofsted rating of outstanding due to its commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Day-to-day of the role:- Support the learning and social and emotional needs of students with complex autism, working closely alongside the class teacher.
- Build trust and confidence with pupils, engaging and motivating them to excel in their personal and academic development.
- Be a flexible, reflective, and self-evaluating practitioner who actively seeks to improve the quality of learning.
- Relate effectively with children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Communicate effectively with pupils and staff to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Proven experience as a Specialist Learning Coach or similar role, particularly in a special educational needs (SEN) setting.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with children and young people.
- A commitment to high standards in all aspects of school life.
- Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Confidence and dedication to go above and beyond for children with special needs.
