Are you a compassionate and proactive Behaviour Teaching Assistant seeking to support students with behavioural challenges in Hull?

Do you have the skills to guide and support students in managing their behaviour while helping them succeed academically?

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant (Behaviour TA) to work with students in Hull schools.

In this role, you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural support, ensuring they are able to engage positively in the classroom and thrive in their learning environment.

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will be:

  • Provide individualised support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in collaboration with teachers and the SENCO.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help students build self-regulation skills.
  • Assist with academic support, ensuring students can engage with and access the curriculum.
  • Create and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and encouraging positive behaviour.
  • Monitor and track student progress, including behaviour, and provide regular feedback to teaching staff.
  • Assist in developing tailored behaviour plans and interventions for students.
  • Offer emotional and social support to students to enhance their well-being.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to provide a consistent approach to behaviour management.

Requirements for a Behaviour Teaching Assistant (Behaviour TA):

  • Previous experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour as a Behaviour Teaching Assistant.
  • A degree in Psychology, SEND, Counselling, Education or a similar field.
  • CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage students in a supportive manner.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for making a difference in students’ lives.
  • Experience in behaviour management and conflict resolution techniques.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or the willingness to apply for a new check.
