GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (KS1 TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hull. The successful candidate will support pupils in Key Stage 1, working closely with the class teacher to create a nurturing learning environment and provide tailored academic and emotional support. This is a fantastic opportunity to help pupils thrive and achieve their full potential at a crucial stage in their education.
KS1 Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of engaging and creative lessons for Key Stage 1 pupils.
- Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted learning interventions.
- Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage the development of pupils' literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Promote positive behaviour and help manage classroom routines effectively.
- Support children with additional needs, adapting activities to suit their requirements.
- Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.
- Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning atmosphere.
- Help with the supervision of pupils during playtimes, trips, and other school activities.
Requirements for a KS1 TA:
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or Childcare (e.g. CACHE, NVQ).
- Previous experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils in a school environment as a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant.
- Strong understanding of early years and KS1 curriculum and child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young children and staff.
- Patience, creativity, and a nurturing attitude.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or the willingness to apply for one.
