Electrical-Bias Maintenance Engineer

Our client, a fantastic business specialising in environmentally friendly, forward-thinking manufacturing business, is going through an exciting period of growth.  Therefore, they are looking for a multiskilled, experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team. 

Your responsibilities will ensure maximum production output by means of fast & effective fault-finding & remedy. You will work to a high standard of accuracy and adherence to H&S and quality policies & procedures.

   Responsibilities will include:

  • Working on high-speed production, packaging, and automated machinery.
  • Perform preventative & planned maintenance, both electrical & mechanical.
  • Servicing, testing & repairs of all site services / facilities equipment.
  • Anticipate/identify both electrical & mechanical problems for improvement/repair.
  • Dealing with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, sensors, inverters, pneumatics, servo drives, control panels, pumps, compressors, bearings, shafts
  • PLC - electrical fault finding
  • Ensure all company, Legislative and site policies are always adhered to.
  • Continuous improvement projects, new machinery installations & modifications
  • Prioritise workload to maximise production efficiency.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory of spare electrical parts & components.
  • Building relations with outsourced suppliers of maintenance & spare parts.
  • Monthly lighting & site electrical checks

To be suitable for the role:

  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification within Engineering, ideally City & Guilds 18th edition certified.
  • Have strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of H&S
  • Experienced in a manufacturing environment desired but not essential.
  • Strong team player with a continuous Improvement approach
  • Pro-active work ethic to work effectively under own initiative.
  • A positive 'can do' approach, even to routine tasks.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, using literacy and numeracy.
