CK Group are working in partnership with a leading UK life sciences biotechnology company to recruit an experienced Laboratory Operations Manager to join them at their site based in East London, on a 12 month fixed term contract. The successful candidate must have line management and previous experience working to GCP standards in a pharma/ clinical environment.


The Company:

An industry-leading clinical development services business based in East London.


The Role:
  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day running of laboratory operations.
  • Provide project, operational management and quality guidance.
  • Line management of the Lab Ops Team Leaders, Research Assistants and Scientists.

Responsibilities:
  • To review and implement systems and processes to ensure operational efficiencies and data integrity.
  • Proficient in resource and people management whilst providing guidance on policies and regulations, and laboratory health and safety.
  • Ability to be a team player and motivate staff, whilst making key decisions based on expert knowledge and interpretation of specific situations.
  • Manage time effectively to meet competing demands, ensuring work is prioritised and delivered on time.
  • Be involved in recruitment.
  • Support Leaders in managing the flexible resource requirements and to make sure that a pool of bank staff is maintained that can adjust to changing business needs.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners.

Your Background:
  • Degree in relevant scientific subject or PhD in Biological Science.
  • Previous experience working to GCP standards in a clinical trial/pharmaceutical environment.
  • Line management and Project management Experience.
  • Experience working within containment level 2 and 3 labs (CL2 & CL3) - desirable.
