A secondary school in Redbridge are looking for a SEND Inclusion officer who would work in a middle leadership capacity within an Alternative Resourced Provision.

This would be a great opportunity for anyone looking to progress from a SEND teaching post. It needs to be someone who is passionate about bringing positive change into learning and can support with Individual educational plans and key requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow the SEND code of practice and have a good understanding of teaching and learning for SEND students
  • Working with internal and external divisions to ensure best practices and referrals are being made and followed up as required for students
  • Follow planning with year group/subject leaders and monitor the class and behaviour
  • Hold meetings with students and parents to ensure that everybody has a clear understanding of expectations and requirements for learning
  • Report to senior leaders and liaise with teachers regarding any safeguarding matters
  • Manage and evaluate the outcomes of intervention programmes and support for children with Special Educational Needs.
  • To lead in the promotion of a professional, caring, and supportive atmosphere with the school.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hold a teaching qualification and have SEND experience
  • SENDCo qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Have experience of working with children in a Secondary school setting
  • Have good behaviour management
  • Hold a valid DBS or apply for one
