Time Appointments are delighted to be working on behalf of a leading freight company based in Ipswich. They’re growing company is searching for a European Freight Forwarder who wants to improve their skill set and be part of a highly motivated team based in on the outskirts of Ipswich.
The candidate will be involved in daily operations and have the freedom to express themselves, have their opinions and ideas listened too, acted upon, and importantly be a valued part of an ever-growing team.
Key responsibilities:
- Planning, organising, directing, and help run day-to-day operations.
- Increase productivity, whilst minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Responsibility for negotiating rates with customers as well as transportation costs of suppliers.
- Maintain and improve working relationships with both customers and suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of all processes.
- Monitoring transport rates, markets, and looking after the job from start to finish.
- Sub-contracting haulage requirements, managing transportation bookings, and quotations
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- Proven experience of working as a European Freight forwarder via road
- 3-5 years’ experience within the European road freight forwarding sector
- Familiarity of the industry and technical expertise
- A 2nd language would advantageous
- Knowledge and understanding of rates, customers, and suppliers within the European road freight sector
- Professional approach to both suppliers and customers
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
- Additional European language would be advantageous, however is not essential
