Senior Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing Refurbishment
Location: Newcastle office Contract Type: Hybrid (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm)

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Project QS, you will play a crucial role in our Social Housing Planned works programme, working both remotely and on-site with an inclusive and supportive team. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining and evaluating information to ensure realistic costs for designated refurbishment projects. You will work closely with contractors, suppliers, and clients to meet project requirements, sharing your expertise with our Assistant Quantity Surveyor. As we continue to grow and win new contracts, you will have the opportunity to take on more autonomy and responsibility in the role.

- Prepare, process, and select estimates, bids, and tenders within tight deadlines
- Develop the procurement programme
- Create and monitor cash flow forecasts for designated projects
- Submit monthly payment applications to clients or their representatives
- Prepare monthly valuation reports
- Submit invoices and ensure timely payments
- Value and authorise payments to subcontractors
- Liaise with Contract Managers to establish project specifications and requirements
- Attend and contribute to meetings with colleagues, clients, and customers as needed, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills
- Monitor contract progress and report any changes that may affect project costs or timelines
- Assist in controlling contract budgets
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need at least 3 years of experience in social housing refurbishment projects. You must be highly skilled in JCT and Measure Term Contracts, with exceptional attention to detail and communication abilities. Proficiency in MS Office is essential, and a full UK driving licence is required as travel is expected for this position.
