This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to critical risk management initiatives while developing your skills and expertise in a supportive atmosphere.What You'll Be Doing:As the Risk and Controls Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring effective risk management across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:Project Management (40%): Lead and manage various risk and controls projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.Technical Execution (40%): Deliver financial scoping activities specifically for Gas Transmission & Metering while executing risk assessments and horizon scanning.Stakeholder Management (20%): Engage with key stakeholders to facilitate risk-based discussions, helping the business identify, assess, record, and manage risks and controls effectively.Key Responsibilities:Conduct regular reviews of risk and control matrices (RACMs) and perform annual cycles of design and operational effectiveness testing of financial controls.Support the identification of key risk indicators and assist in investigating any divergence from agreed thresholds or limits.Deliver training to the business on risk and controls to enhance understanding and compliance.Identify compliance weaknesses and propose remedial actions as necessary, along with supporting the biannual compliance return.Collaborate with external auditors to meet audit requirements and ensure the implementation of audit actions.Lead change initiatives within the Risk and Controls team and the broader Finance function.Provide critical insights and management information to the Finance leadership team, including updates for the audit committee and executive committee.Who You Are:You have a strong background in risk management, controls, or finance, with a keen eye for detail.You are a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys engaging with diverse stakeholders.You possess excellent organisational skills, allowing you to manage multiple projects effectively while maintaining high-quality standards.Why Join Us?Innovative Environment: Become part of a forward-thinking organisation that values creativity and innovation.Professional Growth: Benefit from training and development opportunities that will enhance your expertise and career trajectory.Supportive Culture: Join a team that believes in collaboration, respect, and mutual support, fostering a positive workplace environment.If you are ready to make a significant impact and grow your career in risk and controls, we want to hear from you.
