Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Kettering

Pay: 32,500 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)

Company profile:
Our client is a dynamic and growing company, committed to delivering excellence in their industry. As part of their ongoing success, they are now looking to expand their finance team with a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support their day-to-day accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process sales invoices, ensuring they are accurate and matched against relevant statements.
  • Month-end tasks including saving and checking invoices, matching supplier statements, and managing utility bills.
  • Estimates and WIP figures: Ensure accurate reporting and tracking of work-in-progress.
  • Process and reconcile AMEX and credit card statements.
  • Handle returns and actively chase credits, ensuring the accounts are up to date.
  • Collaborate with managers to switch invoicing from monthly to weekly based on job completion timelines.
  • Address day-to-day queries coming into the accounts department, providing swift and accurate responses.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliation's and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Send out customer statements to maintain clear communication with clients.
  • Review and check CIS/PAYE returns and assist with VAT returns.
  • Work with PO numbers, ensuring all purchase orders are accurately tracked and processed.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience with Xero software is essential.
  • Strong understanding of month-end processes, including invoice management, reconciliation's, and VAT returns.
  • Ability to manage credit card and AMEX statements, returns processing, and other financial transactions.
  • Good understanding of CIS/PAYE returns and the ability to perform bank reconciliation's.
  • Excellent communication skills to handle queries effectively and collaborate with managers.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a busy environment.
