Licensing Support Officer

Pay: 13.02 per hour

Location: Wyre Forest House, Kidderminster DY11 7WF -onsite only

Length: 3-6 months

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council for a Licensing Support Officer to provide adminstrative support to the Worcestershire Regulatory Services.

The sucessful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To respond to requests for basic advice from applicants and licence holders both on the telephone and face to face at licensing surgeries.
  • To review licence applications and to issue licences/permits under delegated powers where the application meets all of the requirements and there are no issues to query.
  • Where there is an issue with a licence application, refer the application to a Technical officer for action or a decision.
  • In the absence of professional staff, to deal with queries from members of the public, giving advice and assistance as appropriate, and/or recording details for a more experience/ qualified officer to deal with in due course
  • To cover for duty officers as the first point of contact for telephone, email and internet enquiries on behalf of Worcestershire Regulatory Services and any related partnership service as and when necessary.
  • Ensure that a full accurate electronic record of all customer interactions is recorded.
  • To maintain operational records and to search other records as directed, assisting with the storage and retrieval of information.
  • To operate the service's I.T. systems and to utilise systems in day to day operations
  • To assist with general clerical and administrative duties when required.
  • To produce witness statements relating to enforcement activities and to attend Court to give evidence when required.
