About the JobThis is a pivotal role taking full ownership of project and capital accounting across the organisation. You’ll lead on the financial management of up to 50 projects, support senior stakeholders in decision-making, and manage a capital investment portfolio exceeding £100m.
Duties will include:-
Producing monthly reports on project performance for senior leadership and governance boards.

Supporting project managers with robust forecasting and adherence to accounting standards.

Leading financial scrutiny of business cases, ensuring value for money and compliance.

Managing and maintaining the fixed asset register in line with accounting requirements.

Leading the creation and monitoring of the Medium-Term Capital Plan (MTCP).

Shaping and enforcing capital policies and providing guidance across the business.

Acting as the primary financial lead for audits relating to capital and projects.

Collaborating with Procurement and Business Leads on tenders to ensure fiscal oversight.
You will be a CCAB-qualified accountant with a strong background in project and capital accounting. You’ll need excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, be adept with Excel and financial systems, and be confident explaining complex data. A problem-solving mindset and the ability to influence senior leaders is key.
