Are you a compassionate and driven individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you ready to make a real difference in a welcoming and inclusive primary school setting?

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a lovely, inclusive primary school in Surbiton, Kingston Upon Thames (KT5). The school boasts fantastic facilities, including a sports ground and a wilderness area, providing a stimulating environment for students and staff. This is a long-term role with the exciting prospect of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children across KS2 classes, including providing 1:1 SEN support where needed.
  • Assist the class teacher with curriculum delivery and monitor ongoing learning progress and development.
  • Provide tailored support to children with SEN, including Autism (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties, and Behavioural Challenges.
  • Foster a nurturing, engaging, and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Supervise playtimes and lunch breaks, ensuring safeguarding and promoting inclusion.

About You:

  • A relevant degree in Education, Psychology, or equivalent qualifications is desirable.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, empathetic, and patient personality.
  • Valid, in-date DBS and two professional references are required.
