As part of a planned retirement process this FMCG manufacturing business is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager to join an established management team on site. This role will involve working closely with the Commercial and Operational Directors for the division and reporting into a CFO at the parent company off site. The business is highly profitable and operates from a large state of the art premises utilising modern technologies and industry expertise to offer a full service to a range of international clients. Having moved from private ownership to become a subsidiary of a global company they now benefit from strong financial support and groupwide efficiencies that will enable continued growth.
This is therefore a very exciting time to be joining the business, the successful candidate will inherit a stable and capable finance department and will receive full support from the wider site team and head office. You will play an important role in shaping the financial strategy of the business and be fully involved in day to day operations, providing accounting and commercial support to decision making. Key duties will be:
- Leading a finance team to ensure all tasks completed accurately and on time.
- Preparing management accounts to group format
- Liaising with auditors and preparing statutory accounts
- Deal with HMRC, VAT, Paye etc.
- Prepare forecasts and monitor cashflow
- Implement financial controls to ensure compliance and manage risk
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes
- Track profitability and monitor costs and overheads
- Drive process improvement and enhance financial systems
- Support implementation of new ERP system
As part of this role you will be expected to be a pro-active member of the senior management team, contributing ideas and implementing financial strategies to drive the business forward. Your actions will feed into the group strategic and operational planning process and you will be expected to collaborate with colleagues on other tasks and commercial projects as required.
The ideal candidate would be fully or nearly CIMA / ACCA or ACA qualified with some experience of similar role in industry, ideally within manufacturing or similar. They are open to someone looking to step up into this level of role from a Management Accountant position or experienced Finance Managers looking for a new challenge. You must have strong IT skills in Excel and be comfortable using business systems and interpreting large quantities of data. The role offers 25 days holidays + banks and will be office based with the opportunity to work from home on an ad hoc basis, the successful candidate will also receive and annual bonus and some flexibility around start / finish time if needed.
