For this role, applicants will have intrinsic understanding of sensory learners, and those with a core theme to further develop intentional communication and interaction skills and behaviours. Our pathway coordinator roles are term time roles.


As a teacher or educator with experience of sensory learners, you will come with innovative and creative skills and a team focussed ethos. Your team will include teachers, tutors and learning support colleagues. On a daily basis, you will also work with a skilled and experienced team of student support workers, with small class sizes and high levels of support. Out pathways are highly personalised and alongside Preparing for Adult Hood, learners will each have a bespoke package of health and support interventions including physio and hydro therapy, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy, access to a skilled and experienced team of assistive technologist, and positive behaviour practitioners.

Qualifications

- Have or be willing to achieve L2 Certificate in Learning Support

- Have an good understanding of Total Communication and have or develop excellence in one or more specific strategies eg Makaton

- English and maths at Grade 4/Grade C or better


Experience

- Experience of working in a high needs students environment

- Be a competent user of commonly used software packages, and be able to transfer skills to bespoke learning and/or communication support software

- Clear understanding of child protection and Adult Safeguarding


Personal qualities and attributes

- Positive, can do approach

- Proven communication skills, offering simple and clear inetractions with students who are :LDD

- Able to work effectively within a team of people, and offer support and leadership in learning and assessment
