We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of our students.Job Description:As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your role will involve supporting students in their academic and personal development, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH and SEN needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and resilience.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive school environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Teaching Assistant in the UK.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH and SEN needs.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH and SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students.
