Head of Financial Accounting - Global Logistics Location: Leeds (3 days per week in office) Company: Leading global logistics business (£500m turnover)My client is a thriving global logistics operation with a £500m turnover. They are seeking an experienced Head of Financial Accounting to join their finance leadership team. As they continue to expand their international footprint, they need a seasoned financial professional to oversee accounting operations and lead a talented team.Reporting to the Director of Group Finance, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting across our global operations. This is a key leadership position within their finance function, combining technical expertise with people management. This role presents the genuine progression route to FD within the short to medium term.Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and manage all year-end processes
- Oversee tax compliance and planning across multiple jurisdictions
- Manage treasury functions including cash flow forecasting and currency management
- Produce consolidated management accounts for the executive team
- Oversee the group's insurance portfolio and risk management
- Lead, develop and mentor a team of accounting professionals
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the business
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and controls
- Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred) with significant post-qualification experience
- Proven experience in a senior financial accounting role, or a first mover from practice
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations
- Experience managing year-end processes and statutory reporting
- Track record of leading and developing teams
- Experience with consolidated accounts and multi-currency operations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication abilities with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
