Asset Admin/Manager - Technical Stock Controller

North Leeds - Hybrid (2/3 times per week)

UK & American Market

AIM OF THEROLE:

"We have grown quickly and we have a fast flow of new customers onboarding with over £10M of equipment now across the globe which requires life cycle management from first installation through to ultimately decommission and certified data destruction."

"We currently have a contractor delivering a project to audit all our existing inventory, help develop our own internal asset management system and setup procedures for handling of equipment around the world."

This contract will conclude at the end of this year and we thus have an immediate vacancy for someone to start operating these procedures and track the handling of all our asset movements globally.

The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and be highly organised with some previous exposure to server components and/or shipping logistics being highly desirable.

KEY RESPONSILBITIES AND TASKS:

Duties may include, but are not restricted to the following:

  • Tracking stock levels at our UK and US warehouse, ensuring that we order in new stock based on upcoming requirements and previous delivery time trends
  • Obtaining Quotes and ordering new equipment into stock
  • Tracking returned equipment - Wiping, selling, dismantling for spares or destroying as appropriate
  • Maintain the global asset register for all customer, staff and data centres equipment.
  • Improve and enhance procedures where necessary
  • Own our AssetView inventory product and work with the development team on new features needed.
  • Work with suppliers and couriers to get equipment into (and out of) foreign countries
  • Maintain stock for RMA (faulty returns)
  • Own processes for RMA

  • Excellent attention to detail, with a desire to do a job correctly first time, every time.
  • A balanced approach to risk, ensuring we get tasks complete, even under pressure, but without unnecessary risk to live service.
  • A mature attitude to change, liaising with peers and forming robust backout plans before commencing on significant tasks.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; tactful, diplomatic and sympathetic when dealing with any customer problems and showing empathy with customer issues.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proactive and forward-thinking approach.
  • Confident with the ability to interact with members of all technical teams including team leaders, managers and directors.
  • A willingness to learn and not be afraid to get involved in unfamiliar processes to achieve a task
  • Excellent time management / organisational skills; being able to work well in critical or high-pressure situations.
  • A head for numbers - working on quotes, with/without taxes / shipping charges - being able to spot errors or price rises before committing to orders

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Training on our systems and partner relationships will be provided but previous experience in some areas would enable the successful candidate to get up to speed much quicker:

  • Server Hardware, components, Hard drives
  • Working with Couriers, preferably on international shipping
  • Admin experience of Purchase Orders, Procurement, RMA
