We are looking for an experienced Fitter to join Operations team in an established family-owned business in Leeds (LS11). Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment and pioneers of super low loss amorphous transformer technology.
Candidates need to supply their own hand tools.
The Role:
Your core duties will be the fitting of various types of distribution and power transformers
You will prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
You will assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
You will be expected to maintain the highest level of workmanship standards and product quality ensuring products are produced and delivered OTIF to the customers requirements.
You will check and complete all paperwork associated with the works order
Performance of area housekeeping activities, including the prompt reporting of problems, shortages or equipment breakdown
Using general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the fitting role
Quality inspection of colleagues output
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
Hands on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment is essential.
The ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings.
Mechanical or electrical qualification desirable
Have good written and verbal communication skills
Experience of working collaboratively with other operations personnel
Ideally experience of working within a continuous improvement environment
Strong attention to detail

Working Hours 37.5 (Nine Day Fortnight):
Week 17.45 am and 4.45 pm Monday to Thursday(Friday off)
Week 27.45 am to 4.45 pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45 am to 15.15 pm on Friday
Overtime
Weekdays: Monday to 12 noon on Saturday at x 1 (time and a half).
Weekends: Noon Saturday to Sunday at x 2 (double time).
You must work a minimum of 4 hours on Saturday to qualify for double time, unless called out on a Saturday afternoon.
Bank Holidays: at x 2 (double time), or x 1 (single time) and time off in lieu.
