A public body in West Yorkshire is looking for a Childcare Lawyer on a permanent basis to join their vibrant community where kindness, innovation and collaboration are at the heart of what they do. Join a fantastic team of highly professional lawyers on a well-supported Children and Adults Safeguarding team, in working together to protect vulnerable children and adults.

The Role

As a Junior Lawyer you will be in amongst experienced professionals working together to provide support, critical decision-making, and advice for those who need it most.

  • High-Impact Cases: You’ll work on high-profile cases in Family Courts and statutory tribunals, supporting the best possible outcomes for vulnerable individuals
  • Broad Legal Expertise: Work on all aspects of children’s law covering a wide spectrum of legal challenges, offering both variety and depth
  • Supportive Environment: Join a large, collaborative team with a strong emphasis on mentorship, where your growth and well-being are as important as the quality of your work
  • Legal Strategy: Provide strategic guidance on complex and sensitive cases, ensuring that all actions align with the Council’s objectives and legal requirements
  • A Supportive Learning Environment: Be mentored by experienced Principal lawyers, in a collaborative atmosphere where knowledge-sharing and support are paramount, and progression is actively encouraged

What You Bring

  • Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx with Childcare experience
  • A desire to advance your legal career
  • A keen interest and passion for safeguarding, family law or public sector legal service
