We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Leeds. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, and PMLD. The position is full-time, with part-time opportunities available for exceptional candidates. Initially, the role will be contracted through Reed with the potential for a permanent position.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide tailored support to children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and PMLD.
  • Work closely with the teaching staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist in creating a safe, nurturing environment that encourages learning and development.
  • Facilitate small group activities and one-to-one support sessions.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, both academically and socially.
  • Adapt resources and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with children with additional needs.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with autism, ADHD, and PMLD.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging approach to learning support.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable.
