We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Estimator to join an established and growing Civil Engineering Contractor based in Leeds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labour estimates.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for consistency with project requirements and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct risk analysis and identify potential cost variances or project challenges.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients during the estimating process, addressing queries and presenting proposals.
- Provide value engineering recommendations to optimise project costs without compromising quality or safety.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material prices, and labour costs to ensure competitive bidding.
- Develop and maintain a database of cost information and historical data for reference in future projects.
- Refine estimating methodologies and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, tender submissions, and supporting documentation.
- Generate detailed cost reports and updates for stakeholders.
About You:
- Knowledge of all aspects of Civils for Residential and Industrial sites, from site investigation through to Infrastructure works
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in an estimating role within the civil engineering or groundworks sector
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering processes, materials, and cost structures.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
